Wing’s first collection of poetry is born out of an adventurous youth. From age 7 to 19 he grew up exploring the great forests, White Mountains and waters of New Hampshire. The 20s brought him South, West, North, East then always West again. Between the jobs and piano were long treks through the wilderness. Between the treks was the road. Oft the road was crossed and into the damp dark he would remain, but when the winds would blow just right, come the howl of wild night, off the trail he would skip into a decision of new. The future veiled with past but a preceptor.

A wonderful work of art from Wing Williams. Reading The Bear Within will resonate deeply with anyone who has experienced the beauty of mother nature. I enjoyed it from start to finish and will no doubt be revisiting this collection for years to come.
The samples made me wonder about the backstories of each poem. Am guessing Tristan Gooley's got nothing on this author's experience and instincts. Just a guess though. Congrats on the book.

"The bear within" is truly a fantastic book. The poems reach around you like mother nature herself and embrace you as your nature is. There hasn't been a book of poems like this since the days of the beatniks. The echos that reverberate through Wing Williams words are that of an old soul not to far from that of Jack Kerouac or Edward abbey. It is a pleasing thing to find such a rare gem in these hectic times of technology. I believe this is Wing Williams first book of poems since I have yet to find another, and I look forward to the next work of art he intends on writing. And if not im more then content with this descriptive, enlightening, and rugged book of a man finding himself in the great outdoors through love and loss and then back again. There is a lot of life contained within "The Bear Within" and I recommend it to anyone trying to play to the tune of there own heart strings.

The poems that make up The Bear Within are beautifully written and will catch the liking of all types of readers. They are personal and sensitive, with a captivating respect for all of what Mother Nature has to offer. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Wing Williams.
